He had his good points I'm sure. Some of his former employees and radio geek fans would know that better than I do. But...he gave up an FM and hung onto an AM. He didn't run it as a business but as a hobby where he could make a little money. When he took a sick day, the station simply didn't sign on for the day. And the photos of the mess that (then) Great Trails Broadcasting had to deal with when they bought his little dump were simply appalling. He was sooo illegal in how he kept program logs it was laughable. Then Great Trails spent millions fighting lawsuits from the neighbors of WING in Kettering who opposed the Z-93 studio move and on the tower move to Brookville. He will be remembered for being one of the last one man operations in the area, and as I understand it he really loved what he was doing. My condolences to his family.
