;) Just a suggestion, bpatrick (and to all of those researching North Carolina television): why don't you try researching the Durham Morning Herald and the Durham Sun as well so you can get a slightly clearer picture of what the schedules were at the time? I found microfiches of those papers at the Durham County Library.

I think Stars was a syndicated half hour ET clone that was stripped and fed on tape, not live.

You know what I meant: it was an ET type show. Syndicated, stripped, bicycled.

RALfan, I took your advice and checked the Durham Morning
Herald. The program listed in the N&O as "Stars" is "Hollywood
And The Stars," the 1963-64 NBC series that documented the
history of the movies, profiled individual performers, and was
narrated by Joseph Cotten. Channel 28 must have gotten
that show for a song.

BTW, the Durham paper's listings are clearer, but more
limited; it doesn't have, for 1978, any but the Triangle
stations, WFMY, WGHP, WRET, and WTTG.

I haven't forgotten the request for WTTG's daytime
schedule in 1978. I was short on time and change,
so I couldn't print out a copy of it (and didn't even
think to write it down). I will ASAP.
