WTTG was carried on cable in Eastern North Carolina then? Wow! A once great indy station, part of Metromedia, before that DuMont...and now FOX!

I'm surprised neither Washington's WDCA channel 20 or Norfolk-Portsmouth's WYAH ( now WGNT ) channel 27 weren't listed here. I am pretty sure TV Guide for this area back then carried listings for both WTTG and WDCA.

Back in 78 I have been told than many cable systems in central Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky carried WYAH. Interesting that with Norfolk being so close to North Carolina ( heck some of their market includes North Carolina ), that these listings overlook them.

These listings did not come from TV Guide, but rather the local
Raleigh newspaper. True, Channel 27 did, and does, air on cable
in far northeastern North Carolina (the part that's in the Norfolk
DMA) but for whatever reason the station did not submit listings
to the N&O. Likewise, WDCA was carried in the Eastern Virginia
and Central Virginia editions of TV Guide, but I don't recall its being
in the Eastern North Carolina edition after the North Carolina one
split into ENC and Charlotte (Central North Carolina).

The Eastern North Carolina edition had not been created when
these schedules actually aired; that wasn't until August 1980.
The Norfolk stations, the Richmond ABC station, and Charlotte's
Channel 36 were never listed there. The N&O listed Channels
3, 10, and 13 from Norfolk, and 8 from Richmond, as far back
as I can remember (and WTVR Channel 6 Richmond was in there
in the '50s and '60s).

WTTG, on the other hand, was on cable systems from Pennsylvania
to North Carolina; I used to see its listings in every edition of TV
Guide from Southeast Pennsylvania southward to North Carolina.

Of the stations I listed in the two posts of eastern North Carolina
schedules, the following were in the Eastern North Carolina edition:
WRAL, WTVD, WRDC, WITN, WNCT, WCTI, WWAY, WECT, WBTW,
WFMY, WGHP, and (for a time) WTTG. Also, UNC-TV: WUNC, WUND,
WUNJ, WUNK, WUNL, WUNP.

Others, like WNCN, WLFL, WRAZ, WPDE, WYDO/WFXI, and the Pax
stations in Raleigh, Fayetteville, Greenville, and Jacksonville, NC, signed on later.
