I have to say that WMCC had a pretty good lineup for a small station being independently programmed! WTTV, in the 90s, had their Saturday movies hosted by Shana Kelley, who later went on to anchor for WISH. They'd play some real hidden gems in that slot.

We had WTTV on cable on the Illinois side of the Terre Haute market in the 80s and 90s. The reception sometimes was lousy on the cable system but was usually watchable. It was one of my favorite stations growing up. It gave us some variety on programming that we didn't get from only having 2, 10, and 38 in the Terre Haute market. We also had WTVW from Evansville as well.

WTTV and WXIX (Cincinnati) were carried via microwave link to a lot of cable systems in Ohio and Indiana (likely other states). That was the time before we had satellte delivery.

There were lots of those regional superstations in the early days of cable, before (a) stations got super protective over their turf, (b) more cable networks started up, and (c) more independent stations signed on.

For example, WKBD covered most of Michigan as well as parts of Ohio and Wisconsin, WVTV covered a lot of Wisconsin and some of Michigan, KMSP covered all of Minnesota and most of the Dakotas, KPLR had downstate Illinois and most of Missouri, and KSHB got into Iowa, and that's just the Midwest!
