I know Charles In Charge was in first run syndication by this point, but the new episodes were generally airing on weekends. Surprised they were also be carried in weekday syndication but I guess the show was over 100 episodes by this time.

Note WTHI's pre-emption of CBS This Morning with Sally Jessy Raphael and Geraldo

WTHI dropped the CBS Morning News (2 hour broadcast) in August 1985 and began airing talk shows in its place such as Sally Jessy Raphael, Donahue, Hour Magazine, and Geraldo, and then a few months later added a 7:00am newscast which was rare back then for a local station. The 7:00am news was pushed back to 6:30 in the Fall of 1990, when they added CBS This Morning at 7 and Regis & Kathie Lee at 9. I think it was on Labor Day 1990, because I can remember being home for the schedule change and remember it was the first time I'd seen Regis & Kathie Lee.

I'm guessing WTHI was one of the smaller (if not the smallest) CBS affiliate to completely dump the CBS morning show? I know a handful of bigger-market CBS affiliates dropped the show at certain times (most notably WWL, but also KDKA, and I think WAGA, etc.).

Probably so. I remember being a kid and they would cut out the CBS This Morning promos during network programming, but occasionally they would miss one and we'd get to see it. I wondered why they didn't show it. They also didn't show Face the Nation for several years and delayed CBS News Sunday Morning until 10:00am. They never carried CBS News Nightwatch. I'll try to post the weekend listings as someone requested them.

WHDH in Boston preempted CBS This Morning from February 1994 until January 1995. During that time, the program aired on independent station WABU (channel 68).

The incarnation of CBS This Morning after Kathleen Sullivan was replaced by Paula Zahn with Harry Smith as the other anchor was a really good show, in many ways as good, or better than Today or GMA. It just never caught traction because a lot of affiliates wouldn't carry it.

Yes I really liked the show with Harry and Paula. Paula had a great voice for morning TV.

Yes, WAGA did drop CBS’s morning show sometime in 1992 in favor of their still-going local show Good Day Atlanta. The CBS show would get picked up by independent WTLK (today WPXA) then by WGNX (WGCL) when it became a CBS affiliate.
