Monty Python on a commercial station, who knew? I thought they'd sworn off commercial TV after the "Dean Martin Comedy World" fiasco.

I remember Monty Python only being on public television, but in the early 80s, KUSI in San Diego had a couple of British comedies in late night as I recall. They had a show that was on public television in the Bay Area but had it with commercials in San Diego. I also remember when KQED/9 San Francisco (PBS) showed SCTV reruns every night of the week at 11 PM. There have been rare instances of programs for commercial television being shown in reruns on public television. KQED even used the break points to insert PBS show promos and KQED blurbs, usually for no more than a minute or two before they returned to the program. My guess is since they ran two 30-minute episodes back to back they needed to pad out some of the time or they would come up short before the 11:30 showing and whatever came on at Midnight.
