It should say KC Athletics sine they were still there and would move to Oakland in 1968 and soon to move to Las Vegas

Interesting that WCBS-TV was still not on the air all night by 1965. Yes, it had "The Late Show" at 11:30, "The Road to Rio" with Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour from 1947. It had "The Late Late Show" at 1:40, "Jennie" from 1940. But after some news headlines and Sermonette, WCBS-TV was off the air by 3 a.m. It looks like WNEW-TV 5 and WABC-TV 7 are on the air almost until 3 a.m. also. But that's it. If you were up between 3 and 7 a.m., your TV was dark.

Eventually, WCBS-TV would stay on the air all night, until around 6 a.m. It couldn't be 24/7 in those days because TV transmitters needed some maintenance every night. So it would go off the air around 6 and go back on the air around 7 a.m. It would show its test pattern most of that hour off-the-air. New Yorkers would have TV around the clock because Channel 11 signed on around 6 a.m. by the mid 1960s.

Meanwhile in Los Angeles, KTTV 11 would also be on the air all night, starting sometime in the 1960s, just like New York. I've read that TV stations in Detroit and Pittsburgh also tried staying on the air all night for folks doing shift work in those cities. But those schedules didn't last long.

And because channel 2 was on all night, the microwave feed that carried WPIX's signal to cable systems upstate starting in the 1960s picked up WCBS once WPIX had signed off for the night. That lasted all the way until WPIX itself went 24 hours in the early 80s.
