How did the stations handle the "normal" delays--not the ones "in pattern but a week late
and not in color--but show that aired a few nights after the network feed?

Were they on tape or 16mm film?

Now, as to the shows aired in the network timeslot but delayed and in B&W--my question
is why? Wasn't Telco already feeding ABC to WWAY, so why not just carry the network feed
of Ozzie & Harriet? The station followed it with the rest of the ABC Saturday schedule.
Or was there some feed oddity involving microwave links or off-air pickups?

There was similar situation when Boston's then-ABC station WNAC (now NBC and WHDH) not broadcasted the post-1967 episodes of the popular soap opera General Hospital in COLOR, instead B&W. I thought it was a 16mm kinescope. Eventough they used to broadcasted it on one-day delay back then.

The only information I can give you re delays is that some stations were able to run them in color (such as
WTVD and Disney); others had to settle for black and white (not only WWAY with "Ozzie And Harriet" but WGHP
with "The Flintstones," which was delayed from Friday to Sunday). Somebody who worked in a control room can probably answer this better than I can.
