That Dick Cavett Show that was in Sesame Street's 9:00 AM slot was a special episode on diabetes, which played again at 7:00 PM.

Where did you live that had the Sacramento stations sharing with KDTV and KQEC?
I grew up on the Peninsula, and remember being annoyed that KTXL and KDTV shared channel space. TCI also did that with WTBS and KCSM at one point.

Regarding two program titles: 'Varieadades de Medianoche' was actually a late night variety show on Mexican TV, which aired in some U.S. markets in 1977-78.
'Boxing At the Olympic' refers to a venue in Los Angeles, the Olympic Auditorium, where fights were held regularly for many years. Channel 34 in Los Angeles originated the telecasts, and they aired on other SIN stations.

I lived in Dublin. And thanks for that info on those SIN programs.

That was the case a lot of the time when KQEC was "operating" between 1971 (after KNEW-TV) and 1981 (when KMTP got the facilities and a license to replace the one held by KQED that had been revoked for a variety of shortcomings ... not the least of which was outright lying to the FCC).

I think you mean 1991, instead of 1981 when KQEC became KMTP.
