I noticed that all channel 19 shows were in black and white only -- even shows that were produced in color, such as Sesame Street and Mister Rogers. Kind of odd for a TV station that began broadcasting in 1970. When did start showing programs in color?

Interesting they would air a Monday episode on a Wednesday, and it's from the previous season (Season 2). I remember hearing that Canadian SS was always a year behind the American version of the show, with a few alterations. Spanish segments were replaced with French segments, and anything with the letter Z would be changed to be pronounced "zed." I also know they had this alternate closing credit sequence with kids going down a big slide, and it would feature a part of the normal harmonica closing theme that was almost never heard on the American version of the show. I'd really love to see a copy of this sometime.

That's pretty much what I remember, as I saw both versions growing up. Canadian Sesame Street even had it's own Big Bird! Bob Mcgrath would do a telethon here in Vancouver and introduce Big Bird's Canadian Cousin!

Haven't been able to find a date, but I assume it was sometime in the early 70s...
