Rio Grande Valley Radio: An AC or a 70s/80s Station

Radio here in the RGV is limited (and sucks)! KVLY plays 90s and 2000s, KHKZ plays 2000s (with some 90s), KQXX is classic rock, others are either rap, rock, country, or....SPANISH! AAAUGGGHH!!!!

So what I am thinking is that the RGV needs something to build interest in. Maybe an AC station, like Corpus Christi's Star 107.3 KRSR, or something more retro but not too old, like a 70s and 80s classic hits station, which could fit the 25-54 demo.

Anywat, RGV radio needs some change! We can't just stay with just the same old new music/country/rock/rap/espanol formats!!!

That's why I subscribe to XM Radio. The RGV is a radio wasteland, but at least it isn't as bad as Laredo.

There's always KVNS 1700AM and Jack FM.

Shoot, it worked in the RGV in the 70s, 80s and 90s, why not now? ;D ;)

All kidding aside, which station would be the sacrificial goat?

So you want to have a popular station without playing what's popular?

A wise programmer once said you don't have a programming hole in your market unless there are enough people to fill that hole.

Well, I'm probably a cult of one, but there are days I'd pay real money to hear KRIO or KRGV as they were in their prime again.....

Well that's true, RGV is bad, but Laredo is worse!!! Maybe I should stick to listening to other Texas radio stations online.
