RKO will no longer run the 60 second news updates produced by WBZ during the Crazy Kuhner Show. Kuhner says this will give him more time for callers. Traffic and WX are safe for now.

Sure, that is just a positive PR spin. What real good will this do for listener? It either smells just like a cost saving measure, or iHeartMedia is so confident in WBZ's brand name, that if you really want to hear the news, then you just hit that pre-set button to 1030 instead.
 
Oh, no. I feel so uninformed not having the "Quick check of the headlines" repeated all day. Sometimes it even included a half dozen sentences, maybe even ones with complete sentences once in a while.

So he gets 1 additional minute at the top and bottom of the hour now that they're not delivering the newscasts. How many more callers can he wedge in with 2 extra minutes?

"Go ahead, caller, you're on the air with Craaaaaazy Kuhner. You have 60 seconds, what do ya have to say. Well, actually that introduction to your call took up 15 seconds, so you only have 45 left. Well, now that comment telling you how much time you still have took another 5, so you're now down to only 40...anyway, what do you have to say with the 30 seconds remaining in what was once a news break? 20 seconds, caller..."
 
Gosh, what is the deal with people knocking Jeff Kuhner? Did he actually do some infraction where he deserves to be ostracized, or is it that a couple of people here just do not like him instead? The truth be told, I do not get it!

I don't remember the most recent 25 to 54 AQH but I do remember that he ranks number 13 in that demo.

I believe there are posters who intensely dislike success, especially when they predicted failure and the station and/or host is very successful. Jeff is one of those. There is a poster here who is so infatuated with Jeff that he regularly says very negative things about him but claims to have not listened to him in 8 years!
Jeff is very successful and has consistently good ratings in the WRKO target demo it programs for.
He does a great job selling the clients products and services. We should be thankful he is local and not a national host. Live and local should be embraced, especially since he is successful!
 
13th in that demo in Boston AM drive means you could put all your angry old white male Trump conspiracy theory listeners in one MBTA bus. I'm over 60, identify as a white male, with a conservative/libertarian leaning and I can't stand the guy... if his voice did not send me back to SXM, his show content would.

The 2 sports stations, Matty in the Morning on WXKS, WROR, and WZLX, and the news/traffic station WBZ-A are getting most of the listeners, and I'll toss in WBUR to that list because I would bet they get decent numbers in AM drive too.

If he ever gets sent to the beach, he will be selling real estate with his wife "Dr Grace"... another failed radio wannabe and she was buying her time.
 
Two more minutes per hour of GOONer's hysterical drama queen antics. I pity the listeners. GOONer will be going national fer shure, any day now! Yeah buddy! When is he going to start writing books and selling T-shirts like a certain afternoon drive host on RKO?
 
from what i've heard so far this week, it seems more ad buys and less talk.

Keep in mind they aren't actually buying time in those shows. They bought time in an iHeart package that happens to air in those shows. It's a category that reaches an age that watches news shows.
 
Well, the fact that an ad with "Favor facts over conspiracies" is in an ad from the RUSSIA! channel remains funny wherever it's run.

The ads you hear are targeted for the age of the audience. The fact that you remember the ads says they are working, even if you are t interested.
