ROCK 103-Free Beer and Hot Wings..looks like they ran out of food

So now what..Ric said no thank you..they have no on air staff and no sales staff..and no listeners

No leadership. No plan. No hope. Time for a fire sale. Anyone want to buy a station for stick value?

They have a grest sales staff.....new DOS ran off of got rid of the dead weight and brought in some barracudas...anyone seen a recent Miller Kaplan?

CC: Down 10% for Nov and 11% for the year. Market Up. Good sales team? Looks like the wrong people were let go.

Posting in the Jobs section of All Access for a Morning Personality on Rock 103 with Paula Newell as the contact...guess everyone who is out of work in Memphis turned them down.

From the AllAccess ad:

"This is not a job for beginners. Five years talk radio experience and excellent production skills preferred. Knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations"

5 years TALK radio experience? Wonder what we should read into that, if anything?

Doesn't Walmart offer better pay and benefits than Clear Channel? CC isn't an attractive option now. There's more job security at Walmart.

First, they've already got the position filled, so it's weird that they posted it.

Second, had I gotten the call to be a part of it, I would've seriously considered it.

Guessing it's a big secret, or somebody likes to think they're more connected than they are.

...and if you actually read the job posting it doesn't say anything about "talk radio"

I actually DID read the job posting. In fact, I cut and pasted it verbatim. In blue.

It's been changed since this afternoon.

You can't be serious.

About which? That I would have considered it? I would have. I have every intent of getting out of radio right now, but I still feel some loyalty to Rock.

Also, to answer the other question, I don't know who it is they've hired. All I know is that a person is already in-house and I've inferred that it's not a locally known person.

"Talk" radio experience for going into a "rock" radio station isn't necessarily mutually exclusive. Most of those morning show yahoos do a lot more talking than playing of music anyway! ::)
