Rock 106.1- Glimpses of what WZAT could have been?

As of late,I've actaully found myself enjoying the mix on 106.1. It got me thinking that if the "old" WZAT were still around, it could have sounded close to what 106.1 sounds now. In fact, in some slight ways, 106.1 is reminding me of 96Wave (RIP). Yesterday was Boomer's first day on the air, and I honestly wasn't too impressed, but I look for improvement as far as his listener interaction & further improvments to their library. It was his first day, afterall. Leslie has done a very good job up to this point as far as MD duties.

Now...should Triad consider....Rock 106.9? It seems like the only thing that may work on that frequency.

For the last month or so, they've been really sounding OK...not a lot of classic alternative or oversaturated with nu-metal or 80's hair. Plus, they've been doing some really good production as of late

As for Rock 106-1 changing...nope. Doubt it. They get a good signal all the way down to Richmond Hill, which pretty much covers Savannah. I don't think they need the extra juice 106.9 has to do better. Triad has to concentrate on 103.1 and 107.9 and do something there before fixing the one station that ain't perpetually broke.

Now, could we see espanol on 103.1? Maybe. Or how about "Praise 107.9"? Possible. Perhaps a return to talk on 106.9? Never know.

Well, they'd better compete against I-95 with a move to 106.9. Rock would have the juice to make it to Statesboro & Hinesville (the largest untapped alternative-active rock markets in our area). I'd think it would be a wise move.

I'd love to see FM talk (hot talk) here in Savannah, but I doubt how well it could do here.
