RTV OWNER PLANS TO BUY 400 TRANSLATORS AND LOW POWER STATIONS

Look at the PDF of the sales agreement on the FCC site.

They threw on an addendum, something about training minorities to operate their regional broadcast facilities. I wonder if they're worried about FCC approval, given the nature of the original donation from TBN to the MMTC...

That would be the only reason I could find for including K38CX Shonto AZ in the sale. The station sits in the middle of nowhere on the Navajo Nation, serving, maybe 50 people. It makes no sense otherwise.

Why wouldn't cable systems start picking up LPTV/Translators if there a good variety of programing. I can see him waiving carriage fees to get picked up.

There's also a law in which cable systems are not obligated to carry LPTVs or translators. For many stations, the only ways they can end up on a cable system is to either buy a cable slot (with no guarantee, or even possibility, that they'll be bundled with the rest of the locals), or be owned by a big broadcaster in the market, where the LPTV's carriage is part of a retrans deal for the bigger station.
Funny that Comcast Stockton has LPTV station, KCSO-33.1 on their cable system which is a Telemundo affiliate but they don't carry KCSO-33.2 which a Me-TV affiliate. Apparently Spanish Language Programming is more important than Retro Programming.
Was there anything on 33.2 before Me? Sometimes it takes time for subchannels to get on cable systems.
I don't know but when This-TV debuted in 2008 on KQCA-58.2, it debuted on Comcast Cable Channel 198 on the very first day and there was no 58.2 before This-TV came along. Antenna TV on KTXL-40.2 debuted on January 1, 2011 and debuted on Comcast Cable Channel 189 on February 1, a month later. Now I don't know when Me-TV debuted on KCSO-33.2 and what was on 33.2 before Me-TV. But Comcast doesn't carry any of ION's digital subchannels like Qube on KSPX-29.2 or ION Life on KSPX-29.3 and those have been there for a couple of years and Comcast STILL does not carry those channels.
