Rumour: Should La Kalle switch back to Latino Mix in NYC airwaves by the future

Folks, since September 1999, 105.9 Latino Mix got a new station that we played Top 40 in Spanish with best mix of Pop, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton and Rock En Español of all time. But on May 27, 2005, Latino Mix has changed to La Kalle by playing Reggaeton of all time and on January 2007 Reggaeton has switch to Tropical by playing Salsa, Merengue, Bachata and Reggaeton.

So do you think that La Kalle will be switch it back to Latino Mix format in NYC airwaves by the future and to have a show programming back like:

Latino Rock con Francisco y Ernesto (10PM-12AM Wednesdays)
Señora Música con Douglas Peña (6-10AM Sundays)
Tu Reggaeton Show (10PM-12AM Sunday)
and more...

Basically, the main change that I was able to detect was in the imaging (which unquestionably sets it apart from the competition) and in a stronger emphasis on Reggaeton. Besides the more urban, streetwise branding (which, for the record, I always found a little strange - "K" isn't a letter in Spanish), the Spanglish presentation broadens the reach of the station beyond the Spanish-speaking audience. And it also capitalized on the interest in Reggaeton outside of this audience, which seems to have waned outside of the aforementioned Spanish-speaking audience with the exception of a couple of Daddy Yankee hits.

In the end, it all comes down to whether or not the parent company sees the brand as effective. The music has reflected the declining popularity of Reggaeton, as the station has gone from "Reggaeton y mas" to having it share time with other rhythmic Latin sounds. La Kalle is certainly a more distinctive brand/image than Latino Mix IMO, so I would imagine that it would stay around ... that is, unless the decision is made to change the programming direction.

Either it's a rumor, or a question. It can't be both... can it?

Reggaeton came in like a lion and went out like a lamb... it just died after making such a big impact.
