Rupert Murdoch kills off news of the World (British Tabloid)

Also it got to mean that CNN, HLN, MSNBC, and CNBC must fall down although its not owned by Murdoch but most people feel that the cable propagandists and tabloid operations are doing the same thing that News of the world was caught doing.

Hardly. News of the World has nothing to do with Fox News, except that it's another division of News Corp. If TV viewers even make that connection, I doubt that it will affect their viewing habits.

It's the reverse of another thread on this board that assumes conservative Comcast subscribers will cancel their cable subscriptions because Alec Baldwin (an NBC employee) is a left-winger.

That's like saying liberal viewers will stop watching Family Guy because Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity are right-wingers.

Not gonna happen.

The News of the World mess can impact Fox and Murdoch's operations over here, but only in an indirect way.
Murdoch is trying to buy the rest of BSkyB broadcasting that he does not currently own. The decision on that by the British regulators was supposed to be made this week. It's now been postponed until September due to this scandal. That's hurt the stock for News Corp. a bit this week. Additionally, some top News Corp. execs could be impacted by this scandal. How all of this would impact Fox et al is not clear, but it could have some impact.

I would suggest that what you'll likely see is other tabloids get exposed for doing the same thing. It's doubtful this was a unique practice in Britain.

And Murdoch's adding a Sunday edition of the Sun to take the place of NotW, which is a Sunday-only paper. Net result: only the name on the front of the paper will change.

....because none of those outlets would EVER engage in a violation of journalistic ethics. ::)

Rupert Murdoch personally cancelled Fox's horrific Wilton-North Report by turning to then-CEO Barry Diller
and making a slashing motion across his throat. I wonder if he did the same thing here?

I'm not sure what that means, Recto. But keep in mind that Rupert Murdoch is a CEO of a huge corporation, and has many underlings that deal with the day to day operations of Fox, Fox News, News of the World, etc.

I'm no fan of his, but if he's a typical CEO, he stays above the day-to-day dealings of his divisions. I'd be surprised if he had any personal knowledge of the phone-hacking scandal - if anything, that went counter to his business interests.

I could be wrong, of course, but I suspect his input into Fox News is along the lines of "You go, Roger," (Ailes), "Keep doing what you're already doing to keep all that money coming in..."

What I really mean is that this Scandal is not confined to UK some of disgruntal Fox Workers might tell us if Rupert Murdoch told them to do the same tactics that "The News of the World" did so the money keeps flowing. Look Rupert won't just take his own company down but he will cause the competing tabloids and propaganda companies down too. We all know he's the Poster Boy of the industry. I think the bloggers who sometimes appear on Fox like Brietbart, Drudge and the Chris Hansen Wannabe who took NPR management down and ACORN down will be under scrutiny and filled with allegations that took the UK tabloid down.
 
Remember the FX series "Dirt" in 2006 that decribed the dirty world of running a celebrity tabloid like the National Enquirer, TMZ, NY Post and The news of the world. Who knew that art reflected reality.
 
Not sure if this fits here, but Robin Meade, morning newsbabe on HLN has remade the Don Henley hit "Dirty Laundry" as a country song. She sounds as good as she looks.
