RUSS MARTIN Countdown to returning to Dallas airwaves and kicking ARSE!!!

That could be why Clo said he was going to have an evening show on 1360 starting tomorrow...

"The BiGG Dave And Clo Show" Starting Dec. 17th 8 to 9Pm, On Rational Radio 1360 AM ???

So does this mean 1360 AM isn't going away? Why would they add a new show if they were going away soon? Something doesn't make sense.

God help us. ::) And is there anyone that listens to 1360 for an extended period of time
anyway? Hate to say it, but the reception SUCKS ASS for that station. What are they,
1K?. I actually enjoy listening to Dick Hunter sometimes, but have given up listening
at times because the signal stunk so bad I couldn't pick his voice out of the static. I
doubt very seriously they have COMPLETE metrowide coverage, but I'm no engineer. I'm
just going from what I've listened to in my car. And don't they sign off in the evenings?,
or do they go directional with the power of a light bulb?, cause if they do, they ain't
shootin' the signal my way up here on the north side.

Reception to the north is horrible for 1360!
For a 50,000 watt blowtorch the signal sure doesnt act like one.

and that 890 watt night pattern is really only good for the cities of Dallas and Ft.worth and in between..
Also don't forget, 1360 is owned by multicultural. Many of its stations are brokered.
Including 1360. just so happens that Rational Radio Owns All The Time.

So it could be the new show just bought the time Rational Had.

Wow. I was under the assumption that the 1360 frequency was 1K max on the ERP, certainly not 50K!. Perhaps I have been under a rock and things have changed in the AM engineering and FCC reg world, but I find that coverage map wildly exaggerated.

All I am going from is one of the first stations I worked at was a little piddly country AM on 1360 in Lawrenceville, GA. We were 1K daytime, and got out probably 20 miles or so, then at night we were directional with literally the power of a lightbulb. I think the neighbors down the street could hear the evening guy, but that was it!. :D

Yeah, that 50kW goes all the way back to the KXOL days, when the xmtr was in Fort Worth. I believe it's off Hwy 10 (old SH183) south of where 121 and 183 merge by the hospital in Bedford these days.

It's still a valuable signal even today, but the nighttime coverage sucks. Me, I'd lease the daytime hours only and let MRBI peddle the evenings and overnights to someone else. That's how BizRadio did it. Or do like KVTT 1110 and use the high-powered daytime hours to peddle the crap out of the stream for night listening.

Sounds like my days at KDNT in Denton. I think I took ONE phone call the entire time I worked nights there.

Wow. 50K on 1360!, which I thought was a low power local freq, not even regional. Guess I
need to read my engineering manuals and DFW radio history... Of course, I can claim I haven't
lived here all my life:p

Do they not own 540 as well? I'd put all of the programming on there. Lower freq, more recognizable, and better coverage, I think. 540 is just a waste of frequency right now with their Hispanic programming. As if we need more of that.

Yep. I do believe all of us have that one station in our careers. Some more than others.... :D

All I've ever heard is that MRBI's corporate mandate is to LEASE OUT all airtime. Period. And that's the arrangement still, far as I know, at both of their stations (540 and 1360.) 540 is pumping out a glorious 249 watts after sundown. At a low dial frequency, that probably still carries a-ways. Then again, what's that compared to my 300-watt floodlight in the backyard...can it be seen from further away than KDFT can be heard? :-\

Russ Martin Automotive has been closed for ten days straight. I drive by every morning. No lights. No open garage doors. No customers. I told you the "king" will return. This is proof.

I wonder if TowerOwner could be Russ? Remeber that property he bought in Cedar Hill under the towers? Things that make you go hmmmmm......

I'm not quite following the logic here.
