RVU explores sale of broadcast license, shift to online

From the article: "Mr. Cardone acknowledges that WRVU’s audience may be thinner on campus than off, but he believes the station justifies its value as one of the only relevant connections between the students and the city."

If this is true, then there is no relevant connection between the students and the city. And there is no effective PR presentation from Vanderbilt directed toward Nashville at large. The feeling I've always gotten from the university is that VU is embarrassed to be in Nashville, abhorrent of the country heritage in the city, and disdainful of the moral values held by many of the area's citizens. Sure there are some who would miss WRVU if it were gone, but by in large there are so many in the greater Nashville area that still don't even know the station exists.
