Sad news for New Orleans 1970s radio people

Received e-mail today from Michael Scurlock's wife, Diane:
"Michael passed away Monday morning due to pancreatic cancer.
Memorial is July 23 at 1pm. Sacred Heart Church. 43-775 Deep Canyon road, Palm Desert, Ca 92260."

Michael was the Columbia promotion man when I arrived at WNOE-FM in late '75, later went to NYC. Always really WORKED his product, without ever getting "in your face" about it. A true professional, a true gentleman -- and he had the neatest, most beautiful address/phone numbers book I've ever seen.

R.I.P., Michael. You will be greatly missed.
 
What a courageous battle both Michael and Diane have fought. What a loss. Michael was an awesome gentleman, a truly professional soft-spoken friend. He will be truly missed. Thanks for posting Scooter B!
