Salem's 1680 KDOW (Seattle) And 1220 KNTS (Palo Alto-Bay Area) Swap Calls...

...formats too?

Can't get 1680 up here (the Radio-Locator map is a JOKE.) 1680 is just as bad a signal as 1590, in spite of double the watts. In fact, I can get 1590 better than 1680....

So it's 1680 KNTS now and according to Radio-Locator, 1220 KDOW down there in the Bay is now Spanish, in spite of it's web page:

http://1220knts.townhall.com/ (note the KDOW calls...)

Spanish news/talk in Seattle? Anybody know?......

Seems like Salem swaps call letters around from station to station in their stable as they see fit. Odd....

Don't trust radio-locator on this. They have a known design flaw in their software - when a station changes calls, they don't delete the format information that was linked to those calls. And when those calls are reused elsewhere, the old (and now incorrect) format information stays linked to them. I'm not sure why r-l hasn't fixed that yet.
