San Diego-10 News to drop helicopter-News 8 to provide coverage

It looks like KFMB-TV (CBS8) has made an offer to KGTV (ABC-10) to share the services of one helicopter and crew to reduce expenses by an estimated $500K annually. The last day of service for Sky10 is January 31, 2013 which will result in layoffs for a couple of pilots and one traffic/in-the-air reporter.
