Savannah Format Flip - WHGM-AM Goes Adult Standards As Star 1400

From allaccess.com

On MONDAY (8/6), MARMAC COMMUNICATION's recently purchased Gospel WHGM-A/SAVANNAH, GA returned to the air with new call letters and an Adult Standards format as "WSEG-A (STAR 1400)."

[EDIT]

WSEG is using Westwood One's Adult Standards satellite feed.

Well, if decent promotions are done, The Landings will ensure this station rises to respectable ratings in the next book.

Here's the station's website...

It's too bad 1400 didn't flip to ESPN Radio, as the current "de-facto" Savannah affiliate, WFXH-1130, is only listenable during the day, while the new "900 The Ticket", formerly WJLG, is a Fox Sports Radio affiliate. Even there, the signal seems to be the strongest heading the islands near the Atlantic Ocean, which means it's slightly weaker in downtown Savannah.

At least the new "Star 1400" has a format that's not available anywhere else in the Savannah market.

This is great news.Maybe this format will make a comeback on Am radio.Wmng in Warner Robins does standards too and their doing great.

Two questions: can this be picked up in Hilton Head (though I don't go there, but I just feel sorry for the geezers having to listen to WLOW or a weak WLTQ)? And who's doing gospel?
