Say Goodbye To "Murder, She Wrote" on TV Land and Say Hello To....

Boston Legal. Reruns started this morning (Friday morning) on TV Land. Who knew that a show from the mid 2000's would replace a show (Murder, She Wrote) that lasted 11 years on CBS? TV Land stopped the reruns of Murder, She Wrote at 1990 and didn't make it into a full cycle. Also shows the revolving merry go round of shows that exist on TV Land and most of which they don't show complete runs of.

I don't expect a ground swell of support of bringing back Murder, She Wrote like they have with Gunsmoke. Most likely this will be the last we hear of this show on TV Land.

You can still watch Murder She Wrote on other networks like Hallmark. We don't need it on multiple channels.

Murder, She Wrote belongs on a channel like Hallmark Movie Channel (where it's on now and the only station which carries it), A & E (which reran MSW endlessly for about a decade) or even Lifetime or the regular Hallmark Channel. It just doesn't belong on TV Land and I guess the viewers and the channel itself told the big story about MSW being on there.

Besides that, why would TV Land pick up MSW and run a marathon of shows in its premiere airing only to have MSW leave a few months later? Seems the way TV Land operates to a certain extent, don't get too comfortable with a show because we will yank it within a few months.

Murder, She Wrote is still on TV Land Monday through Thursday and Sundays. Boston Legal is only on Fridays.

Check zap2it.com and tvguide.com and you will see.

Which really doesn't mean much sometimes according to TV Land since they seem to have a mind of their own in their programming. They aired Murder, She Wrote last Friday and the Friday before that so airing Boston Legal on Fridays is a new thing as of this week.

I personally rather see a comedy put in the morning hours where MSW is at now better than I would a drama. Move Leave It To Beaver, Dick Van Dyke and Andy Griffith back an hour and then put a double dip of something like All In The Family, Sanford and Son or Three's Company in the 11:00 AM Eastern/10:00 AM Central time slot and you'll see a good lineup of comedies in the mornings along with M*A*S*H.

Now, what ever happened to that "lost episode" that started on Murder she wrote and continued (as part two) on Magnum PI? It's for reasons like that that I think stations carrying Murder she wrote should also carry Magnum PI.
Unfortunately, I don't think a network can purchase just ONE episode. I think they have to take the whole season. Therefore, carrying Magnum PI right after Murder she wrote, just once, is not an option.
