SB Nation Radio Ready to Launch ''Above it All'' in January

This will be a mid-morning sports/talk show according to SB Nation.


SB Nation Radio has announced a brand new mid-morning program ready to debut in January. "Above it All with Candace Cooper and Tiffany Marshall" is set to shake up the sports radio airwaves 10am-1pm ET.

"I am elated to be joining SB Nation Radio and have the opportunity to be working with Tiffany," said Candace Cooper. "The time is now for strong, female driven shows and I'm eager to begin this new adventure."

Cooper is a sports media host from Raleigh, NC. She was a star swimmer for the University of North Carolina and a two time US Olympic Trials qualifier. She later received a Master's degree from Wake Forest University.

"Candace and I are thrilled to be able to represent women in the sports radio industry," said Tiffany Marshall. "We are going to break down barriers. We are ready!"

With a small handful of exceptions, women tend not to do well on Sports Talk Radio, and this is like a 4th-tier network behind Fox Sports, ESPn, CBS, and NBC to begin with.

If two women host a sports talk radio show and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound?
 
Is SB Nation what 1-on-1 Sports, which was on a lot of AMs in the '90s, wound up becoming? I believe 1-on-1 was the home of The Fabulous Sports Babe, who attracted attention for a while, then kind of faded away.

Apparently not. I can't find a single station carrying SB Nation's current programming in this slot. Their highest profile affiliate is KTCK in Dallas, but that's only overnight. I figured surely their Phoenix affiliate (KDUS) would carry these programs, but they carry a combination of Rich Eisen and local programming in the late mornings instead.
