Scoot In The Morning at night On WWL AM/FM Last Week

I am kind of shocked that NO ONE mentioned Scoot being on WWL AM/FM Wed, Thurs, Fri last week filling in for Tommy Tucker. I remember hearing Scoot on B-97 during their "talk" days. Talk about a blast from the past.

 I heard about that. Didn't hear him myself, but my wife told me about it. Was he just a fill in or is this a permanent thing? Wonder if we'll hear him on any of the other Entercom stations. I enjoyed listening to him back in the day. It would be nice to hear him on afternoons on the B instead of the afternoon hurl. ;)

He said on the show he was just filling in. I wouldn't be surprised if something long-term develops.

Big whoop. So the androgenous Scoot returns. Are we supposed to roll out the red carpet for this washed up old man/woman who looks like an old hag with a really bad haircut? And his big attraction on the radio is - what??

He even sounds androgenous. Diane must be drinking too much these days.

I'm not saying he's the best thing on radio, just that I liked him back in the day. I wouldn't roll out the red carpet for him. But I would welcome ANYTHING new in the afternoons on B-97. Like I said, I didn't catch him on the air but I could just imagine all the callers just stroking his ego. As far as his attraction on the radio...I dunno! After Katrina it seems like everyone wants to reconnect with everything that ain't der no more. It's not always a good thing. Some thing were meant to go away.

Apparently he has created a facebok fan page. According to his posting there, hewill be on the air again on WWL tomorrow and Friday night, 8pm to midnight. Honestly, I will try to listen just out of curiosity.

Chandler,
I've never met the guy before, so I don't want to attack him. But after googleing some pics of him, I see what you mean.

He's a horrible bi-wretch to look at. God, I hope people aren't that desperate for old washed-up radio people. His TV show, a monument to himself with a giggly idiot sidekick, went over like a tu*d in a punchbowl. Scoot thinks it's the 70's again and doesn't realize how washed up he is and how ugly he looks these days. But if that's what PM radio needs, that just shows how FU'd radio is these days.

Not a thing against him either, but ive seen and met many of his type, usually they are older top40 jocks trying to stay hip and relevant with the times. Some times they pull it off, sometimes its a train wreck. Whatever helps you connect with your demo, I guess. ???

I heard him on WWL last night. Sounded good to me. Perhaps he can ease into the morning drive slot and Del Giorno can go fishin' (permanently).

I wasn't here when this "Scoot" was doing whatever he does, but I've seen recent pics of him and I can't help wonder if this "Scoot" is a male or a really ugly old woman.

Connect these dots. When Scoot worked in Mobile at WKRG, his morning show producer was Scott Sands, now at Entercom INDY, whose GM is Phil Hoover, formerly of N.O. Scott is a big fan of Scoot's, so that maybe that is how Scoot got back in the door. He was pretty big back in the day.

Phil Hoover retired last year, so I don't think he had anything to do with this.

I think Wilkie went to the radio hall of fame.

Ned, you'll be happy to know that Wilkie now will have a Saints post-game show live from a dive bar in the french quarter. Can u imagine all the drunken reprobates lining up late in the evening or God forbid, actually driving down to the quarter to hear his stumbling, bumbling, stuttering genius quotes about the Saints.

It's on WIST 690 by the way...a pay your own way station so Wilkie's done a PT Barnum on somebody to pick up the freight on this.

SCQQT, WHEN HE WAS HERE IN A PREVIOUS INCARNATION (0r was that "In Tarnation!") was the funniest thing on the radio without actually being funny. Some kind of Voodoo approach toward invoking the ghosts of Bob Ruby's SFX library, which Bob left behind when he exited radio to become a Ruth's Chris' Steakhouse Typhoon in Houston. They were too much of a temptation for Cousin It, who scooped them up while no one was looking and ineptly tried to usethem to comic effect with

I tried to google "scoot" but only got one picture of him in an article on NOLA.com. Any recent ones online. Did find somethings on Scott Redman Paisant, one in the same? I heard Scooter-rooo her first night on wimpering how he felt like he should have been in New Orleans during Katrina. Well, you coulda come back but you didn't. Why now...got fired from another job? He ran down list of places she had worked that went on forever, like we some give a good crap? If you're going to bring him, her , it back, bring back Nut & Jeff too...
