Secular Christmas Music on WJIW 104.7 Greenville (MS).

While DXing during a tropo opening this morning, I heard some Christmas music playing on 104.7. At first I assumed it was another UNid station having fun with "Christmas In July" since today is July 1, but first checked the webstream of a station in North Central AR and it was not that station, then a few minutes later at 7am heard the legal ID of WJIW 104.7 Greenville.

I also checked the website for WJIW and the website touting the "old"(?) format of urban gospel is still up, but the webstream for WJIW is down. Did the station sell, LMA, or just a simple format change?

Per Radioinsight.com, 105.5 the Beat in Indianola will move to 104.7, along with the WIBT calls. 105.5's calls have been changed to WNOU, though no new format has been announced.

BTW, 104.7 is now under an LMA.

Thanks for the link. Noticed driving through Pine Bluff AR yesterday that its business as usual on WJIW's sister station KCAT 1340 (the only heritage AM left on the air locally in that town). And this morning (4:16am CDT) KJIW 94.5 Helena-West Helena AR is still with same format as "old" WJIW...for now.

I'm surprised to hear that. WJIW struck me as one of those "frozen in time" Delta stations that would always carry the same programming forever. It's a pretty decent signal, too, so they ought to have fun selling that format. BTW, isn't this the station where an well known and well liked engineer got electrocuted and died at the transmitter site?

Hearing classic country with TOH legal ID for WIBT on 104.7 as of last night and early this morning. Sounds like an unnamed broadcaster is doing the Wheel Of Formats stunting.

Yesterday about 11:30ish am, it was a mix of Xmas music, novelty tunes, and classic country. Same early this morning with the liner, "The New 104.7: Coming Soon". I have an idea of what it will be, but unsure of when. :)

On Monday night and early Tuesday morning heard loop of The Gap Band's "You Dropped The Bomb On Me".

The stunting is officially over, when I woke up just before 4am, heard the TOH ID for "104.7 The Beat" and several hip hop songs.

I was able to pick up a little of their signal this morning, and I heard a couple of tracks this morning from Kanye West and 50 Cent from a decade ago.

So, what is 105.5 Indianola's format now?

Not sure, unless there is some strong tropo scatter/ducting, I can't hear Indianola on 105.5 because of KWRF-FM Warren AR (closest 105.5 signal), and/or KWAK-FM Stuttgart AR.
