Seems awfully quiet out there about NBC Sports hires??

Everyone on here was talking about the demise of FSR and Yahoo with the new networks starting up.

We now know that NBC has hired John Stashower for updates, Erik Kuselias for evenings, and some guy from ESPN New York - Dan Schwartzman - for overnights. Who??

Fox and Yahoo must be shaking.

I doubt "Fox Sports" aka Clear Channel is worried about the 2 new networks, when in doubt CC's got enough internal talent to sustain a network of some sort, even if it is a guy talk network. Yahoo on the other hand...Eventually I'm going to guess Yahoo will fold up as a national network and talent will split between CBS and NBC. the Yahoo Sports resources are there, but if you don't have the talent quality for a national network you won't have the affiliates.

There are posts on here going back 5 years talking about the demise of SNR and how it was any day to it's doors closing. Now, they are Yahoo. They have Czaban, and then Yahoo people and shows on the air. Do you think Yahoo (as in the actual company) is going to let YSR go away, they don't want the bad press.

Meanwhile, GOW (who actually owns YSR) owns two radio stations now in Houston. He has followed the Clear Channel/FSR model with having your main O&O or flagship (KLAC for FSR) fuel a lot of the network programming and the cost.

I just don't see them going away anytime soon. I think too much money has been invested in the network and the name.

YSR/SNR/O&O/SEN has lasted longer under a multitude of Names on a national Level than some Local Sports talk Stations who started up before we had all Sports Stations as a true format. let alone a national sports networks that are on top in ESPN and FSR

YSR has been around since 1991. in 1991 how many All Sports stations were there to begin with in 1991. heck in 1991 other than WFAN how many all sports stations were there in reality. Heck ESPN didnt become a full time network till 1996. 5 years after YSR had Started as a full time network

YSR wont be going no where anytime Soon
