Series Regulars Who Died When Show Was Still On The Air

This item from a Petticoat Junction-themed website might explain Davis' decision to leave the series:

"Rufe and Smiley Burnette got to know each other well again after so many years in the business doing shows together at times. They became fast friends."

Soon after Smiley Burnett's passing, there was an episode where "Kate" and "Floyd" are standing next to the locomotive. Kate says something like, "You're going to miss Charlie, aren't you?" or "It's sad that Charlie's gone now" and Floyd sadly shakes his head "yes" and mutters a word or two.

Douglass Watson (Mackenzie Cory, Another World)

Josh Ryan Evans (Timmy, Passions)

David Bailey (Allistar Crane, Passions, Ex-Dr. Russ Matthews, Another World)

John Larkin, the original Mike Karr on "Edge Of Night" (1956-62),
and before that, radio's "Perry Mason" (from which "Edge" was a
spinoff), was in the cast of "12 O'Clock High" at the time of his
demise in 1965.

And before somebody fills in the details, what I know is that
the radio "Perry Mason" was a daytime soap; when Procter &
Gamble wanted to put it on television, Erle Stanley Gardner
said no, not a soap; he wanted a straight whodunit (we know
how that came out). So the head writer on the radio "Mason,"
Irving Vendig, created a similar show, changed the characters' and show's
names, and continued with most of the same actors on television.

The first Mister Wilson died. His brother (also "Mr. Wilson") came in mid-season to help out Mrs. Wilson. Then that Mrs. Wilson disappeared and at the beginning of the next season the wife of Wilson 2.0 had moved in.

Mr Wilson 1.0 was Joe Kearns, previously the guard outside Jack Benny's vault.
Mr. Wilson 2.0 was Gale Gordon, previously Mayor La Trivia and Principal Osgood Conklin, subsequently Mr. Mooney and Uncle Harry.

Mrs. Wilson 1.0, Sylvia Field, died in 1998.
Mrs. Wilson 2.0, Sara Seegar died in 1990.

Glenn Strange -Sam the bartender on Gunsmoke. I think he died in season #17 or 18. He death was mention in an episode.
