Shakeups in Evansville -- South Central Cells, WJLT to Sports

Via TomTaylorNow.com

South Central Media is selling its radio portfolio to Midwest Communications, including Evansville/Owensboro stations WIKY, WLFW, WSTO and WABX. Sale expected to close in the fall. South Central also owns stations in Nashville and Knoxville, which are included in the sale

Separately, via RadioInsight.com, it was leaked yesterday that Townsquare Communications will switch Oldies WJLT to Sports as ESPN Radio 105.3. The whole airstaff will be let to. Unclear how current ESPN Radio affiliate WYFX will adjust.

Summary: news this week with all three of the top rated stations in Evansville.

Updates:

Today is the last day for the Oldies/Classic Hits format on WJLT. ESPN 105.3 debuts in the morning.
Former ESPN affil WYFX flipped to News/Talk a while ago with a second-tier lineup.
It turns out that 107.1 WEJK is not part of South Central's sale to Midwest. The station is still on the market. No indication who may buy.
