Shocker! AJ and Free dropped as hosts of BET's "106 & Park!"

I read about it on AOL yesterday. I also read recently that AJ had a pilot with UPN, I'm not sure if it was picked for a mid-season slot, plus he already left the show once before, so his departure was no surprise. Free is on the cover of King magazine for next month's edition, and when I glanced at it, I saw something about her leaving the show as well. I never watch the show very much, or BET at all for that matter since they changed their programming a lot over the years. I think TV One has the potential to be a much better network than BET, but BET has the Viacom cash behind them, and TV One needs more coverage and more original (and better) programming.

Could this be a matter of ecomonics??

Could A.J. and Free have been asking for more money than BET was willing to pay them and the network simply decided that they could find a new host(ess) or co-hosts for "106th And Park" who would work for less money??

I have read elsewhere that Free has signed a recording contract with Def Jam. She is an aspiring rapper and had been persuing that before 106 & Park. A.J. and Free have a loyal fanbase and only time will tell if the viewers will accept the replacements, whoever they may be.

AOL should hire them

AOL has been trying to build up its Music property, and this would be a big "get" - even if maybe just for a weekly show.
