Short term license renewal for CFSI 107.9 Salt Spring Island, B.C.

Satnam Media got the book thrown at them by the CRTC today for ongoing issues of non-compliance. The license will be renewed only until August 31, 2015 and mandatory orders have been issued requiring CFSI to comply with their conditions of license at all times.

Satnam Media is controlled by Sukhdev Singh Dhillon who recently sold his U.S. based station KRPA 1110 in Oak Harbor, WA (Radio Punjab) after similar issues arose at that facility. There have been suggestions made that Mr. Dhillon should also sell CFSI to local Salt Spring interests who could possibly turn the fortunes of the station around.
