Shows that you've seen in reruns that your local stations didn't carry

One example is Press Your Luck, since WSPA/7 was carrying Hour Magazine instead, I've seen PYL episodes from 1986 on USA Network and GSN. The nighttime version of Sale of The Century i've seen on USA Network, but no local station aired it in Asheville in 1985-86. Super Password is another one, because of WYFF/4's noon newscast, i never saw it until GSN in the 90s. Did you ever see a showed that never aired in your area in reruns on cable?

A classic. WRGB in Schenectady never carried Star Trek. No cable where I was. Had to catch up when I moved to California

I've seen episodes of "Ryan's Hope" om Soapnet, WLOS passed on that show in the late 80s, I've seen reruns of "Card Sharks" (CBS version), on GSN that WSPA didn't air in 1988 for syndicated "Wipeout"(ironically, "Wipeout" also aired on USA Network in reruns at one point.) There are a few NBA games from the late 70s I've seen on YouTube that WSPA didn't carry.

I never saw the syndicated nighttime Sale of the Century anywhere on TV, and have only seen episodes on You Tube. That actually would apply for a lot of other syndicated game shows from the 70's and 80's that never made it to TV in the Memphis or Jackson, TN area, and also several NBC game shows that were pre-empted by WMC in Memphis, who was notorious for dropping a big part of NBC's daytime schedule to show syndicated talk shows instead. Add to that shows that I never saw even in reruns on cable because of not having it during the 80's and 90's when USA showed game show reruns. My main time to have seen game show reruns would have been with GSN after it started.

Also I never saw classic shows like Star Trek and the Twilight Zone as a kid because my parents didn't watch them until I discovered them in reruns later from the 70's on.

PYL aired in Philly (no doubt in part because of the CBS O&O there) but not in Baltimore or DC IIRC (affiliates in both cities so more freedom).

And I didn't know about the prime time SotC until I discovered this thread.

ixnay

I've seen the syndicated SOTC on USA Network in 1993. I'll admit, it was better than the daytime version was.

"Face the Music," a music game show hosted by Ron Ely of Tarzan fame, was never seen in Philly when it first aired in syndication in 1980. I had to pull in WOR-TV/9 from New York to watch it. It would show up in reruns in 1989 on the then-CBN Family Channel(now Freeform).
