"Simpsons" to have a major character pass away later this season?

I don't have any idea who will be killed-off. However, after watching the less-than-mediocre season premieres of "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy" this past Sunday, I'm giving up on both shows. Since I stopped watching "American Dad" a number of years ago and never could stand "Bob's Burgers," I guess there will be no more Animation Domination for me.
 
I stopped watching the Simpsons about 22 years ago. I'll say it will be the old guy, I think his name is Mr. Burns.

But, as reported in a story in the Hartford Courant yesterday (sorry, don't have the source, as I've thrown away the paper), that could be any one of several people, responsible for most of the show's voices. Not really much of a clue.

The vagueness of the clue is probably to keep us guessing,
else they would have probably come right out with the name
of the actor. Maybe they'll be smarter than the producers of
"Dallas" on the "Who shot J.R.?" thing; somehow it leaked out
that Mary Crosby was leaving the show and that her character,
Kristin Shepherd, had fired the shot. Turns out that's exactly
who did it.
 
I doubt it will be Mr. Burns, the running gag has been that he has lived forever.

I'm betting either Comic Book Guy or one of Bart's classmates.
 
Who voices Grandpa Simpson? Fox will probably cancel Simpsons soon anyway to cash in the syndication $$$ from cable they can't cash in on while they're still making new episodes due to some deal that dates back to the early 90s.
 
^Dan Castellaneta performed the voice of Abraham (Grandpa) Simpson.

Dan Castellaneta (Homer)
Yeardley Smith (Lisa)
Jackie Mason (Krusty's Dad)
Marcia Wallace (Edna Krabappel)


That was just in one year. I am reading the hint as the actor who provided the voice for the character won and Emmy and THAT character will be killed off. So in this case, Since Dan Castellaneta won but didn't win for Hans Moleman, the character of Hans Moleman is safe. Perhaps I am not reading it right.

At the end of the 26th season, Marge dies; Bart, Lisa, Maggie and Meathead move away; Homer buys the bar and calls it Homer Simpson's Place all while tending to his niece Stephanie who moves in...no, wait, that was another series.......
