Sinclair to expand local news in New York, Washington D.C. and Saint Louis

I wonder what this means with Dallas (KDAF) and Houston (KIAH) with their so-called "anchorless newscasts" called Newsfix (or what I call Newsbroke). I hope, when Sinclair takes over, they don't expand it. I'd much rather see a newscast powered by one of the big-four newscasts in the market.

I hope the plan for the Sinclair Broadcast Group to merge with Tribune Media does not happen (the folks in charge of them should focus on improving their operations).

I'm guessing KWGN & KDVR will be spun off ?? (I ask that because they STILL identify as Tribune owned stations even though Tribune Broadcasting no longer exists)

morning dose is already on PHL17 in Philadelphia. I wouldn't wish that poor excuse of programming on anyone that isn't already receiving on their local boroadcasts... :-/

Tribune Broadcasting still exists. It's a subsidiary of Tribune Media. KWGN and KDVR and all Tribune Media stations still identify that way.

The deal with Sinclair hasn't closed and hasn't received regulatory approval. The latest stories indicate it will be well into 2018 before anything closes.
