Sirius20 on 20 vs. Goom Ultimate Radio...are they setting the trend in Top 40?

Listening or monitoring both of them....they seem to try to take Top 40 back to a similiar period around toward the 80's. Not playing songs on the charts, but putting songs on the charts...well almost. Goom -Ultimate has had success doing this where almost weeks later the terrestrial stations add them on , or eventually end up on the trade or internet charts....expl Billboard, America's Music Chart, etc.
Sirius XM 20 on 20 seems to go in the same direction...except they seem not to have the same success. I hear Vampire Weekend, Big Heed and Alien, LaRoux's latest, Rock Mafia (which is good) and the Daylights. I've been hearing them for weeks, but they have yet to chart on the mainstreams.
Goom's add ons eventually get placed on the charts or at least 50% they try to break to the public. The song Hurts - "Wonderful Life" was a great add on, but that went nowhere when it comes to the trade charts and terrestrial stations. And eventually erodes away from Goom Radio as well. There also ahead and very well opened to playing songs with the F* bomb and was well ahead of terrestrial and Sirius when it came to breaking Celo Greens "F* You".
The question is, why are the songs still being played on 20 on 20 when there not charting. How long does it take to make it on the trade charts, or most terrestrial radio CHR's playlist?
Back in the 80's and before, it would take the average song a week to a month before by the time the major markets got a hold of them? The songs I listed above seem to be the nations biggest hits as far as being played on Satellite Radio, but you won't hear it on most FM CHR's.

Very rarely does a song that Hits 1 breaks first make it big nationwide. They like to break NEW music first and cater to their audience which includes Canada if I'm correct which is why you hear stuff like Glee. Personally, I don't like it. I think a CHR should be a CHR. Hits 1 is commonly afraid to jump on anything rhythmic as well. They love taking out rap in songs and adding anything rhythmic very late. Rhythmic is a huge factor on CHR these days... when I listen to CHR on satellite radio, I listen to KISS in which CC programs.

Agreed. Although Ultimate radio isn't really a CHR either (they're more of a "Hot 100" station), it's far superior to Hits 1.
