Skippy White and WILD AM 1090 changed the Boston music scene forever

Hard to believe a print ad in the Globe couldn't get WILD's call letters right

I'd blame the promoter or whatever agency placed the ad.
Gotta say that's quite the all star lineup, and the ticket prices ain't bad. According to the inflation calculator I used, a $3 ticket to that show would translate to just under $32 in today's dollars.

Correct, the ad was not placed by the radio station.

That tour was financed by the label. All the acts performed as part of their label deal. They were traveling in a school bus from venue to venue. So it's not unlike label promotion tours today, and the ticket prices for them are usually lower than headline tours from a major artist.

Kinda figured that since every act except Rufus Thomas was signed to Motown, but still, you're not gonna see a lineup like that today for the 2025 equivalent of $3. For that kind of money, you're lucky to see a washed up country act at a county fair.
