Snuff Garrett, Record Producer Who Made a String of Hits, Dies at 77

I remember seeing his logo on countless records in the early '70s.

In the 70's, Garrett produced a number of hits for Cher (with and without Sonny,) and also worked with Frank Sinatra, Tanya Tucker, Vicki Lawrence, Roy Rogers, Eddie Rabbitt, Brenda Lee, Jim Nabors, Ray Conniff and others. He also had his own successful series of easy-listening LPS as "The 50 Guitars of Tommy Garrett" and made a second fortune by leasing the home video rights to the RKO Radio, Republic Pictures, and Hal Roach film libraries and forming The Nostalgia Merchant, Inc. to market the tapes.
