So after all that 'Hype' the ratings 'Scandal' meant nothing.

Consulting 101: Be an-expert-from-AFAR...

Not-working-in-the-market -- and because, for some unannounced reason, the market is embargoed -- I don't know.

RE "Speculation?"

"Speculation" is the-OPPOSITE-of what-consultants-are-about.

You'd use ANY sort of professional services provider to AVOID experiments, guesswork, and speculation.

When it's tax time, you sure wouldn't want your accountant to guess, right?

But seeing as you aren't in market currently, what, in your vast experience, may be the reason seening as the books in Providence aren't embargoed any longer (or else we would't have the 12+ numbers for the Spring Book)

maybe Arbitron is considering having WPRO bring Dave Barber back for a few months...that'll more that make up for the juked stats on the Depetro show.

Radio dials will be tuning and switching away from 630 faster than that particle accelerator in Cern. lol

How does the Associated Press pick their "Talk Show of the Year"
in reference to JD's show? Do they have the same system as Arbitron?

"Judge not..."

AP employees don't actually judge.
Judges are people-who-work-at-AP member-stations-in-other-markets.
Example: When I was in Washington, I and several other folks judged entries from Seattle.
Seattle didn't know that Washington people were judging until after-the-fact.
Likewise, we didn't know who (where) was judging us.

Thus the aw-shucks humble tone smart stations use in promos that acknowledge awards.
Rather than self-congratulating, copy acknowledges "THE MOST-FLATTERING PRAISE IS RECOGNITION BY OUR PEERS..."
And that, "LONG-AFTER THE APPLAUSE FADES, WHAT MEANS THE MOST TO US IS...YOUR TRUST. THANKS FOR LISTENING."

Re: No sitcoms, eh? Well here's "a reality show..."

sorry...I don't watch cartoons either.

Ooh, I just thought of a funny show I do tune in to from time to time! It's called Capitol TV.
A taxpayer funded public access channel that shows Rhode Islanders the inner workings of local
government.

But alas, the show hired this guy who's nothing more than a mouthpiece for the rank & file democratic
general assembly.

I thought speculation was SYNONYMOUS with consultants, Churlie. ;) ;D
Now, in response to your question about putting Air Force One on E-Bay,... ;)

I've heard MANY 'mishaps' in tv and print News land.
Howcome we sheldom hear about them?

Been drinking alot, WC? Sheldom!?! Isn't he our Senator?

There has been 3 local ones front and center lately-2 at Ch 10 and 1 at Ch 6.

Leslie Yeransian either left or got canned for her report on the Tourism Board's 800# which was seriously heavy handed and wrong as she took things at liberty.

Bill Rappleye got slapped across the wrist by the omsbudsman for his handling of the Carcieri nepotism hiring and subsequent "interview" (read ambush) on 10 News Conference.

Jim Hummel's leaving CH 6 for the direction the station is taking, slant they are putting on stories....

As far as the Pro-Jo...they NEVER get anything wrong (until they bury it 5-8 pages back with their corrections column later in the week)

Wknd,,!! xtreme11678 -- he has several spelling errors! The post on Haberman! please address!

I was talking about criminal activity. I know of one reporter (TV) who was hauled down the police
station about a sexual assualt. Not a word from our media. No coverage of Mario Hallario and his boyfriend
relationship with Mayor Cicilline. 10 never touches Cicilline. Now compare the RELENTLESS coverage of
the Depetro thing. After all, what law was broken?

WC, turn your sarcasm setting on....it obviously isn't detecting what is coming your way.

If you are refering about Barry Diamond, talk about jumping into the way back machine! Why not bring up a former anchor's DUI arrest while you are at it!?! They have been reported; but most of the stuff is ancient news....the perception that Ch 10 never touches Cicilline I find extremely funny! Wasn't 9 months ago that pretty much EVERYONE on this board was crucifying radio, print and TV for the whole storm story, now Ch 10 doesn't touch Cicilline...funny.
