My guess is 106.9 The Point. It's the only place on the FM dial I can think of that their chatter would be fitting.

Are they sitting out a non-compete?

I believe it's the standard 6 month non-compete.
They left in October I think so they should be able to return in April.
KRBE should be under new ownership by then.
Does anyone know what kind of ratings Atom and Maria are getting?

I don't know if 6 mo. is necessarily the standard if you are canned from a station. I think it may depend on what your contract was if any. I know if you quit like Sam Malone did then its probalby 6 mo., but Walton and Johnson were back on the air after about 3 months. Outlaw Dave took more like 6 months. That's why i think it has something to do with a contract.

How do we know they haven't left town?

I do not think that they will be getting on ANY station in this area any time soon. Just a guess

Jimmy...Atom and Maria

I haven't seen all the trends, but I know that just before R&R went off the air, they were being beaten in every demo by Atom and Maria.
KRBE is not seeing its most stellar morning numbers, but that show is hanging in there quite nicely.
Cumulus may do some stupid things, but I don't think rebranding KRBE with a R&R morning show would be one of them.

I have also tried to defend R&R because they were the only two people at the entire damn station getting any numbers. You remember how Mix has stayed above a 2 share and never plummeted to the ones?!?
R&R were the only life of that sad station. Now they've gone with Sam Malone at a higher price and will continue to garner the same crappy ratings.
I do think Sam can pull in a few more listeners, but the format is musty now and adding a local phenom to your morning program can't save a whole station.

Re: Jimmy...Atom and Maria

You are absolutely lying about the being beaten in every demo thing. Everyone in the office has looked at the numbers and that is a purebullshit statement.

Most on this board are anti-Roula, Ryan & Eric anyways. You won't get true numbers unless your in radio and have access to this information, you sure won't get it here. I wouldn't believe anything regarding numbers on this board.

Ooh, I sense some bitterness.

Re: Non Competes

Why is this the ONLY industry that takes NCAs seriously?
Do they honor the compensatory end of the contract in return?

I have nothing personal against Roula, Ryan or Eric. I wish them all the best and hope they can find a new gig and a new niche.

However, the numbers don't lie. Many people on this board DO work in radio or at least have an official association with it and you seem to be saying that you don't.
Trust the radio savvy people--a little education never hurt.

I could name many programs or DJ's that I really liked, sometimes even loved, but that doesn't change the fact that I was one person who liked them and there weren't enough other people like me.

Hell, my favorite sport is the NBA. Do you know how much Harris Polls and the media have started to (BLEEP) on my sport? Do you?!?
Well guess what, it's life. Get over it and get on with life.

Few people on this board genuinely hate R&R, but many people turn venomous when people like you start making erroneous claims based on facts you don't have and don't try to get.

R&R, as I said (if you actually read my post), were the only lifeboat for Mix. They were the only thing pulling respectable numbers. The rest of the station was mostly in the toilet.

I am torn because I am a longtime Malone fan but also think CC's business decision was looking at a short-term fixation to boost morning drive numbers slightly instead of realizing that the entire station's attemtped format is dead.
Mix is out. Jack and Dave and Bob are in. The numbers vary between cities, but Jack has proven to be a far more successful branding in terms of playing variety than any 'Mix' format.

You can either trust our facts, take our advice and get over it or continue to complain like children.

You have the constitutional right to do any of these three. Although, I think I speak for everyone else on this board when I say that I hope you pick one of the first two options.

Re: Jimmy...Atom and Maria

You are still lying about the numbers. I read them and R&R were winning in virtually every key demo that is Mix. We have also looked at what Sam is doing and he is down in EVERY demo. The facts don't lie, but you do. I guess you are one of those people that if you say something long enough you can get people to believe it. That may be true of the people that read the boards, but the clients I deal with know and it doesn't work for them.
