So what do you think of WKSL 93.9 kiss fm

I Think its actually pretty decent for a cc station. I think they need to add more songs like stuff from the sugar hill gang and artists like that but like i said it is decent.

any thoughts or comments,

So far, so good, although I will miss the Christmas format that Sunny carried during the holidays. This Kiss is what they should have done in Greensboro when they flipped WFMX...

So what do you think of WKSL 93.9 Kiss FM

I was in Albemarle (Stanly County) yesterday and got a chance to hear the station. I can't pick it up at home in Kannapolis. I like the format. I wish we could get a Rhythmic AC here in the Charlotte market.

Wow, really? I have a digital radio in the car. I should try it.

I started getting the station at about the Cabarrus/Stanly line on Hwy 73. The signal was not listenable at times, but I got enough of it to like what I heard.

Surprisingly, WKSL sounds great. I've all but forgotten about G105 now; Kiss is so much better, without the bubblegum pop.

One problem though; why can't they invest in a local morning show?

Now, If someone would give up on one or two of the three country stations in this market, and If 96Rock or 100.7 The "new" and "terrible" river would back down on classic rock, this market *might* bounce back and thrive with diversity.

WKSL is a step in the right dirrection. It sounds great, but it's only a step.

I have checked out the web stream and I must give props to CC and Chris S for putting together a really good sounding station... I don't know how the OTA product sounds, but I really like the music mix thus far... CC1

Had 93.9 on all day yesterday and most of today. Congrats CC! That is a first in nearly 4 years.

The next phase of WKSL 93.9 Kiss FM starts tomorrow; Whoopi premieres at 5 AM tomorrow, and Dave Kent will also return tomorrow in his new time slot in the afternoon. Nights will be voice-tracked; does anyone know who (if anyone) the midday jock will be (between Whoopi and Dave Kent)?

From what ive heard the line-up is like this: Whoopi in the morning, then Chris Shebel Middays, then Dave Kent in afternoons, then some guy named Chris Randolf in the night Voicetracked from Loisville Kentuky. So there you have it. Source Radioandrecords.com Article New Day For Sunny 93.9/Raleigh.

Never mind. My digital radio must not be that good because I don't get anything.

Still trying to figure out what the "L" in "WKSL" stands for; does anyone have any ideas? "KS," of course, stands for "Kiss," but I am drawing a blank on the "L."

So you mean to tell me it's not "Wee Kould Suck Less"? :D

If you turn the L upside down, it's a 7...they flipped at the beginning of '07. Okay, so it's probably just a coincidence and I'm missing dn*L soda as mentioned in another thread on another board.

93.9 is the best station in NC as far as I am concerned. I have been listening online all day and it is awesome. I only wish we had something like it on the boring, homogenized Charlotte radio dial. Triangle, consider yourselves blessed.

I agree with you Jim. I am in the Charlotte market too and have been sick of our local radio menu for years. Most of the area stations are just shooting for the soccer mom dollar it appeears. I also listen to 93.9 Kiss online and love it when I have access to the strream. Unfortunately when at work, the proxies don't allow for external streaming, so limited to when can listen.
It's a pitty with Charlotte being a larger market that we can't receive a station that JB & Billy, or Deliah (however it is spelled) doesn't dominate. They are so boring and predictable!!!! At least I can listen to 91.7 and 88.7 when in the mood, but nothing here that is HOT! Lite 102.9 can not be counted on as they are too inconsistant.

I tried to see what all the fuss was about when I was in the Greensboro area but I couldn't pick up the station. I don't understand how the potential Majic 94.1 fans could be having so much trouble. Although WKSL could have already moved its tower, but that hasn't been mentioned here.

93.9 hasn't moved yet; last I heard, the move to Cary is slated for this coming spring.
