I agree with Jabba 17 that Randy and Spiff may be on the PM drive when (not if) they are reunited together. But, I also think that it is a good chance that they will get the Morning show. O.M. Mark Richards has made many pro Randy and Spiff comments over the years. He was the PD at Fox 97 when they were there. I remember reading an article with Richards going on and on about how great they are. I agree.
 
They need to put R&S in morning drive and move Imus to 9-12am to go against Boortz; let the 2 old fartz battle it out. ;D
 
That might be a good idea. However, it would disrupt the flow of the station. Actually, having Imus on True Oldies 106.7 at all, just doesn`t fit. Maybe, Citadel could work out a deal with 790 The Zone and put Imus on there. He was on 790 WQXI The Zone back in the 1990`s. I`m sure that Steak, Beau and the rest of the Zone 790 owners, would take a small fee. Hell, do they make money at all on 790 The Zone? The advertising that Citadel could get, might be worth it.

Do you really know anything? Imus would return to 790 right after hell freezes over. There is no way Imus would be more profitable to them vs. their current show.
 
Well, enlighten us RTibbs.......... How much money is the current Morning show on 790 The Zone making. I have only heard complaints about how the morning show there is not making any money. By the way RTibbs, never say never. I also enjoy your nice words about me. I see you still enjoy following behind me as my #1 fan. Don`t forget to bring the Potato Salad and beer to my 100,000 post party!

Oh yeah from where did you hear the morning show was not making moiney? The same people who told you TRG has been fired 6 times or that CC owns Star 94.
 
I can say this! Randy and Spiff will be back together and on True Oldies 106.7 very soon. Like I said before, it has not benn decided yet about Mornings or afternoons, but it will be soon.............
 
Well I for one like Imus ok and he is only on for 3 hours and you have the wonderful oldies the rest of the time. But who know what will happen down the road. I do know I like Spiff and Freddie very much. Both are great guys and Spiff's wife makes a tasty pound cake.

They said the same thing about Stern and classic rock in NY when he started doing mornings.

I think it's a good match: Imus is himself a golden oldie and this market needs some quality AM talk (as opposed to SB's N/T). He's not my first choice, but everyone else runs a distant third.
 
It's great you all have opinions, but let's try a little facts, eh?

First Imus owns a part of True Oldies. He and Phil Boyce at WABC launched this little monster as a way to reduce costs and make more money for ABC before it was sold to Citadel. Since then, Citadel is bleeding money and their stock is under a $1 a share. Staffs have been slashed across the country and successful stations have been forced to take on this True Oldies format with the hopes of selling big money through the former ABC Radio Network. Some are predicting that Citadel (Furid Suleman, Mel Karmizon's former right hand financial hatchet man) might be force to sell stations in order to pay debt service and not file bankruptcy.

Bottom line, The company is in big trouble. Don’t’ expect additional expenses at this time. Watch for Mitch Dolan (President of the O&O stations) to be shown the door this fall. Then, his replacement will start making major changes and decide if True Oldies is going to survive. I would bet a Benjamin that there will be a new format on that frequency by next summer. By the way, I’d bet another that a soft AC competitor to B98 will also make a run by spring.
Write it down and let’s revisit in eight months….
 
Imus has nothing to do with True Oldies it's all Scott Shannon's baby and the format will survive. It's doing very well thank you!
 
You are correct, AM Lover. I think he might have been confused with Imus' show itself. I believe the I-Man does own a piece of the action, and WABC program director Phil Boyce was instrumental in putting the Imus show together.
 
True Oldies is doing fantastic!!!!!!!!!! True Oldies 106.7 is always on in most buisnesses all around Metro Atlanta that I go to!!!!!!!!!!
