Something old and new has been added to New Orleans Radio

Wasn't the KJIN/KXOR swaped because they needed 106.3 and 107.5 for emergengy info for post K after math. BTW; 1230 WBOK is back to its CD's so I guess somebody realised that the fm radio was on.

Took some searching but I found the post I made post K
http://www.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,11810.0.html

They were running KXOR over KJIN while they were still doing some post Katrina info on 106.3 after 107.5 went back to normal programming. However for about a few days to a week, KXOR and KJIN were running off of different playlists but had both of them IDing as KXOR Eagle 106.3 before returning it back to ESPN.

Normally Guaranty and now Sunburst relay 107.5 KCIL over the KJIN transmitter when the sat feed goes down.

But thanks for the info on the reason why Q93 was possibly being broadcast, but unless they were testing the EAS equipment is all I could see the reason why.

Q93 refeed may have been via the WBOK EAS box

Nope! They were doing it again this evening. I listened for several hours, and they simulcasted Q-93 the whole time!

Hard to believe they'd stop playing the AOR-type mix to rebroadcast a CC station. Kind of weird.... I wonder if they know over there at 'QUE?

who knows how much longer this will last. i have been listening to WBOK while they were playing music
via an AMAX stereo walkman patched into my stereo and they were sounding very good. i wish AM owners
would give C-quam stereo another look reguardless of format.... ;)

If It's typical CCNO, I'd say yeah now they do from our posts on here.... But so far Why C&D a station no one except hard core radio people (aka people who read our musings) and a few people who hit the seek button know about?

On the Quam stereo.. I think it failed due to the noise, Jury is still out if IBOC, even though it tears up the AM band, if bringing digital quality to AM would be worth another look with stereo separation and all. (I admit I am not up on my IBOC readings as I should be)

But yeah it's nice to hear something other than country, religion, oldies, or talk on AM (even though I am partial to AM country music stations).. it's nice to relive the memories of that first time you heard say Led Zepplin on the AM radio

But do have a request for 1230am that is fitting though...... Everclear's "AM radio" ;D

i am not going to get into this because there is another thread about HD AM/FM which will not be the best for music on
the AM band because of the 5hz bandwith. the FCC did pick the C-quam system and it was being used until
corporate radio started turning it off.
