songs that are "kind of" Xmas songs

There are some songs that mention Xmas that aren't considered Xmas songs. Same Old Lang Syne mentioned it, talked about it but didn't chart 'til Dec. 27th 1980 & I kind of consider it a New Years Eve song or just a regular old hit. I recall my parents having a store bought casette of Xmas songs years ago with Anne Murray's "SnowBird" on it. Also "Does She Love That Man" by Breathe(early '90s) mentioned "Christmas is coming & I don't feel festive". Anyone recall any other ones similar that are on the "fine line" of being Xmas songs?

Almost forgot Better Days by the Goo Goo Dolls where they talk about"you ask me what i want this year, and i try to make this good and clear
just a chance that maybe we'll find better days,
'cause i don't need boxes wrapped in strings
and designer love and empty things".

I know this is kind of the inverse of what you're asking for, but FWIW...

There's The Hanukkah Song by Adam Sandler...that's definitely not about Christmas.
Then there's Alabama's "Angels Among Us" which isn't about Christmas, but that's when they play it (well, it gets more plays that time of year).
"Winter Wonderland," "Let it Snow," "Baby It's Cold Outside," "Frosty the Snowman," (and there's more, I'm sure...) they really aren't about Christmas...but that's the only time you hear them.

Oh yeah...back on topic, there's "D**k in a Box" ... THAT mentions Christmas. ;D

I can't think of any right now, but I did hear "Same Old Lang Syne" by Dan Fogelberg ain't it? this weekend on Mix101.5's Christmas programming. It did seem like more of a New Year's time song, or a general sad love kind of song.

Yes, it is Dan Fogelberg. The line from the song is "..the snow was falling it was Christmas Eve". This is the only reference to Christmas in the whole song. I have heard it during the middle of the summer one time so I guess it could go in the general sad love song category.

Kind of like "Brick" by Ben Folds Five...which is a song about an abortion the day after Christmas-the first words are"6am, day after Christmas"-then later"I walked down to buy her flowers and sell some gifts that I got.

;D I always liked John Denver's MAJOR HIT! "Please Daddy Don't get Drunk this Christmas"...But I did anyway! BIG APE!

Some oldies that mention the time of year...

"Winter World Of Love" - Engelbert Humperdink
"Our Winter Love" - Bill Pursell
"Hazy Shade Of Winter" - Simon & Garfunkel
"I Am A Rock: - ibid.
"Winter's Day" - Tommy Roe
"Sometime In Winter" - BS&T
"Summer Rain" - Johnny Rivers (check the last verse)
