Sons and Daughters of Current and Former Employees of Local TV Stations

How about Ernie Johnson, Jr., son of the longtime voice of the Braves? Or Joe Buck, son of longtime Cardinals voice Jack Buck?
And doesn't Marv Albert have a son--I think his name is Kevin--who's a basketball announcer?

It's too bad this thread wasn't expanded to include children of local television personalities who went into other areas of show business. At the top of the list would be George Clooney, son of Nick Clooney of WKRC-TV Cincinnati (also nephew of Rosemary Clooney). Also, Sharon Lawrence of "NYPD Blue," whose father Tom is with WRAL-TV Raleigh. I don't know if Sharon ever worked at WRAL, but George used to appear on his dad's talk show on WKRC during school vacations.

Never knew that about Sharon Lawrence. The biggest name in this category other than George Clooney would probably be movie director Paul Thomas Anderson, the son of Ernie "Ghoulardi" Anderson. Then there's some guy Ernie worked with on local TV in Cleveland named Tim Conway, whose son, Tim Conway, Jr., is the evening guy on KFI in Los Angeles.

In Pittsburgh, there was the pairing of longtime KDKA anchor Bill Burns with his daughter, Patti, on the noon news starting in 1976.

In Chicago, NBC anchor Lester Holt's son Stefan anchors at WMAQ. Over Christmas (or possibly New Years) this past year they anchored a newscast together. Stefan in Chicago, Lester piped in from 30 Rock.

Wacky local TV/radio weatherman Lloyd Lindsay Young(best known for his work throughout California-currently at KKSF after years on KGO-AM, with a stint at then-superstation WWOR in the 80s) has a son who apparently followed in his footsteps. There are Youtube clips of the two working together, apparently at KERO in Bakersfield some years ago. HEL-LOOOOOOOOOO, NEPOTISM! ;D

Also, longtime Bay Area newsman Fred Van Amburg(who became better known after dropping his first name when he joined KGO) has a son, Bill Van Amburg, who worked as a reporter at channel 7 and elsewhere in the 80s, before moving to work for a consortium of companies devoted to environmentally-friendly freight transportation.

One other well-known national figure who shares a local TV connection with his father is football Hall of Famer Dan Fouts. Dan's father, Bob, was alongtime sportscaster for KPIX, and announcer for the 49ers in the 50s and 60s. Dan eventually spent a couple of years as sports guy at KPIX in the mid-late '90s(replacing another ex-NFLer, Wayne Walker).

They did indeed co-anchor, but nobody was piped in - Lester was visiting Stefan for the holidays and was right there on the set in Chicago with him.

Were we not restricted to nepotism at local stations, I would also list FOX News vet Steve Doocey, and his son Peter, a recent FOX recruit. But the topic says I can't, so I won't.

And then there's NBC's Luke Russert, son of the late Tim Russert. Luke was an intern at ESPN while dad Tim was host of MTP on NBC. Shortly after Tim's death, NBC managed to lure Luke away from Disney. Because of this, the Russert legacy at the Peacock Network continues (Not sure if that was the intended reason but that was the end result though)

Cheers & 73 ;D

Why did you still list them in spite of your last sentence?
