SOUL OF THE SOUTH SUB-CHANNEL PLANS 1ST QUARTER 2012 DEBUT

Gimmie a piece of that Bounce pie, must be in their game plan.

Unlike Bounce, this network sound like less movies and more "entertainment". They plan
to feature up to 5 hours of news a day. Headquarters are in Little Rock. Network president
is Larry Morton (one of the founders of RTV). (UH-OH).

They will be using the resources of the Independent Network News.
Plans are for a 2 hour morning news show from Atlanta.
1 hour evening news show.
Capitol Eye - 30 min. opinion program
RadioFace - hosted by radio personalities
Southern Soul Stories - history website is fairly new http://www.ssn.tv/

I'm waiting to see the new African American subchannel from MGM. If its anything like THIS or MeTV it should be good.

Where's you hear about that at?

I think some are seeing that if Bounce can sell movies and Soul Train, there must be
something there for them also.

Good to see it will have News on it but I hope it's Local News from Altanta because TBS doesn't show any and it's from that town and Daily Buzz and WGN News do good.

If they're looking at getting a Chicago affiliate, more than likely, only Weigel Broadcasting will pick up the network. I was surprised that they picked up Bounce, but chose to place it on low power station WWME-LD 23.2 instead of a subchannel to WCIU (like getting rid of The U Too & put Bounce on 26.2). They'd either put it SSN on either WWME-LD 23.3 (currently a simulcast of 23.1 MeTV), or a subchannel to WMEU-LD. Jovon Broadcasting (WJYS) will once again take a pass on a back oriented network in favor of brokering out all their timeslots. They lease out 62.2 to the owners of WEDE-CA in order to have full market status. If Jovon were smart, they'd try to get a sales department to get some local & national advertising for these networks, but could still keep a channel available for their brokered programming. Weigel will just relegate these networks to their low power stations that people closest to the Sears Tower can't get, due to the multi-path, & those more than 30 miles away may or may not receive the low power stations either.
