Sources: CBS4 anchor Rick Folbaum shopping jobs in other TV markets

Rick Folbaum to consider other TV Markets according to the Miami Herald after spending 5 years at WFOR CBS4 News.

After nearly five years at the helm of the CBS4 prime-time newscasts, Rick Folbaum is reportedly looking for a change of scenery.

The former Fox News anchor’s talent agent, according to two sources in the news business, has been shopping him around the country.

The agent has been calling news directors in large markets with a claim that Folbaum, 48, could be available as early as Aug. 1.

CBS4 newsroom boss Liz Roldan declined comment.

Father-of-five Folbaum, meanwhile, seemed miffed by the question about a departure when reached Thursday on his cellphone.

“I’m not going to comment on this,” he said after a few seconds to process. “I can’t comment.”

This much is sure about Folbaum, however: He doesn’t appear to be here for the long run.

Within days of his arrival in 2013, he and wife Kelcey Kintner paid $563,500 for a house in Weston that would be comfortable enough for their large family.

By mid-2016, however, the couple sold the house with a tiny wee-bit of a profit and moved into a rental.

Many TV contracts these days run in three-year increments, and the sale may have indicated Folbaum was getting ready to eventually leave South Florida.
