South 107 part of LMA as WRGA, Q102 sold

Looks like a MBO (management buyout) to me...probably no drastic changes in the short-term...the only big signal is WTSH.

Looks like Southern is planning on cashing out once and for all. Bet on it that the 107.1 frequency was not included because the minute it's upgraded to 100k it's going to be snapped up for big cash to be an Atlanta rimshot.

WSRM 95.3 (WRGA simulcast) was probably left out because it will be changing frequencies soon to 93.5 (which was WLJA Ellijay before they moved to 101.1). After all is said and done, WSRM may become the new home of "South" once a 107.1 sale is completed, and the new group may take formal ownership of WSRM at that point.

My question is WGJK and WZOT. I suspect they will be jettisoned entirely to a different buyer, given their small nature. The LMA will let current programming and organizational structure stay in place such a sale is completed/

The winners in all of this...the people of Rome, who will actually get locally owned and operated radio, a rarity these days. (On a side note, is WLAQ and WATG locally owned as well?)

I'm not sure that "locally O&O" is much different than what South has been since day one. Maybe the owners didn't physically live in Rome, but they've always been a small, hands-on ownership who made the decisions. No corporate BS or investors to answer to. And they've always served their community well. 20 years is a solid accomplishment.

More updates today on radio sale, WSRM, probable South sale:
-GM says no format changes for RGA, Q102
-SRM moving transmitter, will have more reach into neighboring Bartow County
-Partner's still-dark new frequency, WRBF 104.9 FM, to stay off-air and not be part of new Rome cluster, GM says
