An internal memo was given with this info as "we evaluate the station's performance".
The bottom line is, Y-100 has a great music mix right now for a Top40.
I've always believed that for this genre to succeed and become a Top 5 Arbitron-rated station in 12 +, the station must be driven with likable and developed characters on the air. Real personalities.
I also know that many will not agree with me, but Footy should step down his post on the morning show and allow some hot new fresh talent to breathe some new air into the station. Clear Channel has already taken away the Y-100 we knew and loved.
Since the station's format altering in 1999 to the sound of what Y-100 is today. The music has been what the station needs, but a true overhaul of the personalities is necessary.
If Y-100 were under my control, I would definitely say that Michael Yo and Adam Bomb must remain after the station's "evaluation period". A brand-new "local" morning show is first priority. Personally, I don't know how the situation is, but I would definitely keep DJ Holiday on Middays because he has done well on an interim basis, and he is a name synonymous with the market.
I would remove Carson Daly at 11pm, and restore AT 40 and SBDP back to the lineup right away. There was no reason for removing the programming in the first place. SBDP is a solid dance and entertainment program on Sunday nights which is now crucial in order to keep a foot in the dance community.
Clear Channel representatives please heed these words as I hope that your company will make the correct moves in order to create an even better Y-100.
PS. Get rid of the Damn .7 from the name Y-100. The Diary holders know the difference.
