WBLQ-LP licensed to Ashaway, RI and serving the communities of Southwestern Rhode Island and Southeastern Connecticut is owned by The Washington County Chamber of Commerce. This spring will initiate many changes in the Rhode Island radio market and some of those changes will directly and indirectly effect myself as well as my broadcast companies, which is why you are reading a message directly from the President and General Manager on the Rhode Island radio board. This will be done on a first come first served basis. The Federal Communications Commission does not permit the outright sale of an LPFM frequency, however, LMA's are allowed as long as they are locally originating. Simply put, I've had another great opportunity come my way, and 96.7's frequency must continue to serve the community, but in order that bills be paid, because my services as underwriting manager will no longer be available for this outlet, the time must be sold in this fashion. For the hours of 6-10AM morning drive, the rate is $50.00 per hour. Afternoon drive, 3-7pm would be $40.00 per hour. The rest of the day and night would be available at $25.00 per hour. Remember this is a non profit frequency. The FCC rules do not allow commands, mention of price, or comparative language. You may acknowledge businessess for identification purposes only. Ideally, Christian Broadcasting, ethnic broadcasting, and other regious broadcasting works well. Certain rules of the station itself must be followed, not to mention FCC rules of no profanity, and other FCC rules. Time is of the essence, and only serious inquiries will be considered. First and last month's payments must be ready as security at the time of commitment. Serious inquiries only please email Chris at WBLQ. [email protected].

It's a donation for use of the air time you will be making.Anyway there is christain music now on 96.7.

That's too bad. Having lived in Florida where a good number of the stations are airing some form of religious programming (~20 in the Jacksonville area) I can tell you first hand how easily it wears on the listener. Plus, isn't 88.1 already doing that down there?

Chris sold 88.1 to K-Love and is airing the same type of programming on 96.7.As for 1230am I think its the same "I'm a star in my own mind" radio he had on 96.7.
I would love him to go bird feed on 1230.But he will never do it.He wants to be local public access radio.

I would ask "why is he doing that?" with 96.7? Was there a falling out with E.M.F.?

I can't speak for what's on 1230 now because I can't hear it (too close to 1220 & 1240). I do like the fact that it's in stereo but if the schedule is anything like the website, it's kind of a mishmash which could become annoying to a casual listener. I guess for birdfeed there's already 1180.
